Roof-A-Cide® Stain Preventative began as a product concept in Davie, Florida in 1992 as a safer alternative to the damage caused by repeated roof cleaning and the use of harsh chemicals. This method has been widely used and considered "unavoidable" throughout South Florida.

Over the next few years, Roof-A-Cide® stain preventative was formulated and field tested on approximately 2,000 homes throughout Broward County, Florida. The test results were considered a major breakthrough in "Antimicrobial Technology Surface Cleaning and Stain Prevention."

Roof-A-Cide® is the Only "EPA Approved" Algaecide/Fungicide for use on roofing materials. GAF Materials, MonierLifeTile,  US Tile and Metro Roof Products the largest roofing manufacturer's in the United States, have tested and approved Roof-A-Cide® for use on their roofing products.

Roof-A-Cide® has been demonstrated to be a cost effective and safer alternative in controlling algae and mold growth resulting in black stains on stone coated steel tile, clay or concrete tile and asphalt/fiberglass shingle roof surfaces.
